Word Barn – Stage & Barn

This multifaceted venue is designed to host guests and a variety of live music, workshops, educational, and literary events focused on an intimate and inspiring community gathering setting. A new outdoor stage situated in the adjacent meadow will provide a sheltered showcase for live music and literary readings. The stage structure is designed using off-the-shelf components for maximum economy, ease of construction, and a short build schedule that can sandwich between the summer performance season and winter conditions. The segmented roofs minimize wind loads, allowing for lighter, more economical and easy to handle structural components. The historic barn will be adapted for reuse as a 3 unit bed and breakfast, alongside the existing performance hall and green room, with improved venue support spaces. Corresponding life safety, code and accessibility improvements will address regulatory requirements and improve audience safety and experience.
