Rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of this 18th century English barn provides an intimate community gathering space and lodging facility in a historic setting. This multifaceted venue hosts local and international artists for live music, educational workshops, and literary events, along with spaces for weddings and private gatherings. ARCove reconfigured previously underutilized spaces as short term stay guest suites. Our design also made the performance hall more accessible and functional with a new entry ramp, additional restrooms, and expanded concessions. The reinvented Green Room suite now comfortably accommodates travelling performers, while improved support spaces and MEP systems keep operations running smoothly. The design for the outdoor Meadow Stage provides a sheltered showcase for live performances. Its structure incorporates prefabricated and off-the-shelf components for ease of construction. The segmented roof planes minimize wind loads, allowing for a more economical structure. Work was completed on budget and within a short build schedule sandwiched between the summer and winter performance seasons.
