Hinman Hall, Thomas College

Situated on a gentle crest at the top of Thomas College’s campus, Hinman Hall provides undergraduate housing in a new socially collaborative environment. Student lounges are positioned to frame key views over the river valley, while sunshading and orientation control daylighting and solar heat gain. Automated controls reduce internal energy loads. The building placement is oriented with support spaces at the north face snugged into a hillside for additional protection from the harsh winter climate.
